Information

Let us know if you're planning to breastfeed, or even if you're considering it. We provide clear information and guidance about breastfeeding. It's helpful to be well-informed beforehand so you know what to expect.

Information intake

At the end of your pregnancy it is useful to have an information intake
What exactly do you learn from your postpartum doula about breastfeeding? The following topics are almost always covered:

  • How is breast milk produced?

  • What happens right after your baby is born? Does he seek the breast on his own, or do you need help?

  • How can I tell if my baby is hungry?

  • How often and for how long should I breastfeed my baby?

  • What are the different breastfeeding positions and how can your partner help?

  • Explanation of the postpartum period. How does breastfeeding get started, when do you get engorged, and what are your period days?

  • Your baby's day and night rhythm

  • How do you pump, which pump is right for you?

  • supplementary feeding, what is the best way to do that?

Regardless of whether you choose breast or bottle feeding, every baby deserves an optimal start in life. Babies are all born with the same needs and feeding reflexes, so it doesn't matter what kind of nutrition you plan to use to raise your baby. Skin contact, attention, interaction with your baby, and feeding on demand are important for all babies. A baby can develop optimally when these needs are met.

The postpartum doula is happy to help you make the right choice. We'll provide you with all the objective information about the pros and cons of breastfeeding and bottle-feeding. We'll also guide and support you in your decision.
